Code Of Conduct

At GirlTech Africa, our mission is to empower girls through comprehensive technology education and community engagement. To foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment, we have established this Code of Conduct to guide the behavior and interactions of all members, volunteers, participants, partners, and stakeholders within our organization.

  1. Respect and Inclusivity:
  • We treat all individuals with respect, kindness, and dignity, regardless of their background, identity, race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic.
  • We promote inclusivity, celebrate diversity, and work to create a welcoming space for everyone.
  1. Gender Equity and Empowerment:
  • We are committed to advancing gender equity and empowering girls and young women to pursue careers in technology and STEM fields.
  • We actively challenge stereotypes and biases that perpetuate gender disparities.
  1. Professionalism and Integrity:
  • We uphold the highest standards of professionalism, honesty, and integrity in all our actions and interactions.
  • We adhere to ethical principles and avoid conflicts of interest that could compromise the integrity of our organization.

  • We embrace collaboration and teamwork, recognizing that collective efforts lead to greater impact.
  • We communicate openly, honestly, and respectfully with fellow members, volunteers, participants, and partners.

  1. Confidentiality:
  • We respect and protect the confidentiality of sensitive information, including member data, organizational records, and proprietary knowledge.
  • We do not disclose or misuse confidential information, both during and after our association with GirlTech Africa.
  1. Non-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment:
  • We do not discriminate against or tolerate discrimination based on any protected characteristic.
  • We do not engage in or condone any form of harassment, including sexual harassment, within GirlTech Africa.
  1. Safety and Well-being:
  • We prioritize the safety, well-being, and personal development of all girls and participants involved in our programs.
  • We report any safety concerns promptly and take action to mitigate risks.
  1. Compliance with Laws and Regulations:
  • We comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies governing our activities.
  • We report any violations or concerns related to legal or regulatory compliance.

  • We are committed to making a positive impact on society and the communities we serve.
  • We engage in responsible and sustainable practices that align with our broader social responsibility.
  1. Reporting and Resolution:
  • We encourage individuals to report any violations of this Code of Conduct or concerns about unethical behavior through established channels.
  • We are committed to investigating and addressing reported issues promptly and impartially.

Consequences of Violation:

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to warning, suspension, or termination of membership, volunteer status, or association with GirlTech Africa.


By participating in GirlTech Africa, individuals acknowledge their understanding of and commitment to this Code of Conduct.

This Code of Conduct is subject to periodic review and may be amended or updated as needed to reflect the values and evolving needs of our organization.
